Found this in Morcambe on GSV, looks like an abandoned Z5580.

Great pictures Eccles Express, I never like to hear of classics coming down, but those looked dangerous.

These were not the only ones though. West Salford through areas like Worsley, Walkden and Little Hulton were full of examples like these. Some of the Stanton 7 posts actually snapped in half at the road side. It was fortunate nobody was injured or killed! Most have now been sleeved and converted to LED.

Half a WTRL 2000 found in Chester on GSV!

http://goo.gl/maps/mmWCw

Its got to be sealed where part of it has been sliced off, going by the partially burnt part of the bowl.

I knew I hadn't been imagining it when I saw one or two!!

Looks like Google have finally got round to processing images from their Streetview bike then. About 3 years ago I went round Chester city walls, and noticed one or two WRTL 2000s cut in half - quite a peculiar solution!
http://goo.gl/maps/mL9ZN - the canopy has gone in this, but you can see the 'tabs' across the bowl where the wall and seal slots in place. I believe this is the one I actually saw from above on the city walls.

There's actually SIX of those wall mounted chop-off 2000s
http://goo.gl/maps/nKTKt
http://goo.gl/maps/Yl9Da
two in this view: http://goo.gl/maps/zlQY9

Plus considering the height of the cliff and how narrow the towpath is, I cannot help but wonder how those were actually installed in any form of safe manner....

The, as it was then, City Council may have hired in a barge with a bucket lift attatched in order to mount these, quite unique, 2000s to the wall / cliff.

God knows how Cheshire West & Chester Council (a unitary authority which replaced Cheshire County Council and Chester City Council in 2010?) will replace these unless they purchase a few AC 730s as a replacement. There's probably more "Chester Standard" WTRL 2000s waiting to be discovered its just the case of finding them.

I've actually found three more! One is mounted on a column a bit further round which has had the slice treatment and where that canopy-less one is pan the camera round and you will see four on the wall one where the bridge is and a bit further down two more. So overall there is Nine of these Chester standard 2000's.

In my post I put the links to the ones I found, are the ones you've found in addition to those ones?

I couldn't find any others on columns other than the one without a canopy... doesn't help because SV only goes so far along the pathway.
