I went to Dudley the other day. I didn't have a camera but they have some very interesting installations as well as some incredible relics. Unsleeved 8m Stanton columns with original concrete brackets and Alpha 1s!

Some sightings from recent work visits around the Midlands..

'Synehurst' and High street in Badset, Evesham is almost entirely lit by a mix of AC Ford and GEC mercury lanterns, not too sure on the type.

One exception is this nice looking GEC with acorn bowl.

Just down the road is this lantern on a very elderly cast iron post.

There are plenty of similar installations around the area, too many to list on one go!

A few examples..

South Littleton.

Pebworth.

Broad Marston.

Further afield, these were found by being partly visible from Frankley services!

Your unknown lantern in the first link is an AC Ford AC850 - several of your links show these.

The small GEC in the 2nd link is a GEC Z5590.

Pebworth looks to be an AC Ford AC730, as does Broad Marston.

I remember USL posting a streetview link from Chapel en le Frith in Derbyshire, with some odd columns.
They are Poles Ltd Adastra columns (if nobody else posted that, I can't be bothered to check!) and somebody else has now found them too:

And there are/were bigger versions of these in Hartlepool

I wondered who made them. I was expecting for some bizzare reason S&L.

In a few weeks I'll be going to Lincoln to see if I can find any more forgotten lanterns.

I'm not sure how long they will last as those in nearby Lye Close Lane were replaced this year.

I think they are 1960's, maybe late 50's.

I went to Shrewsbury yesterday (West Midlands I think) and the lighting seemed to mainly consist of geared newish MA50 and SGS203s. However there are also Z9554s and Iridiums around on the main roads. The town centre has some nice fake heritage lanterns  (nice = not Albany).

Shrewsbury also has some older lanterns, such as some quite rare Phosco P211s (which now burn SON-T) and some Z8430CM lanterns which I presume also run SON (either SON E or SON T) and there are some Alpha 3s though, the later Thorn type.

Side streets have SGS201s, MI26s and older Thorn Beta 5s top entry on old cast-iron columns. Should I go back, I'll try to get some photos!

Some more sightings last week...

GEC Oxfords I think, in very good condition.
http://tinyurl.com/32432d8

Just down the road is this acorn bowled lantern.
http://tinyurl.com/2w4c4sh

The whole street has various lanterns of interesting designs, and well maintained it seems.

Sleeved post with mercury lantern, again, quite a few in the area.
http://tinyurl.com/2uoen9t

This is much easier to see in the winter with the leaves down!
http://tinyurl.com/3859c4q

Large flourescent lanterns, one pair were seen working at night.
