I didn't even know there were any over there....

The main focus seems to be on streets going off the Oldham Road. But there doesn't really seem to be any particular pattern as to what is being done where (ie groups of streets or alphabetical order).

And now here's photos of two private survivors I found by accident in Rochdale:

The ballast pictured is an Osram, and showed a diagram of an eliptical lamp, labelled 125w MBFU. I don't know if the rest of the drawing is supposed to symbolise a 2nd lamp or not... but the ballast itself just seemed like a very big box with the front rusting off like some old key safe.

These likely 2x 2ft fluorescent's are located here:

I am planning another jaunt over to Rochdale some day next week to check up on progress. I am expecting some Seagulls to have gone now.

The casual replacement lanterns that have been replacing some Seagulls have now been identified as Trac Itinera's

Trac Lighting is based in Thirsk, near the railway station.

Settle - lantern heritage destroyed with the exception of some lanterns slightly north which appear to be AC Ford AC848s. Langwathby - some Phosco P??? (cottage roof) lanterns remain as seen from the train. Carlisle - the Alpha 3s remain however some may have been replaced with Thorn Jets. Also noted under the underpass by the castle is roof mounted LED lanterns, not sure what brand they are and I couldn't get a photo of them as my camera sadly no longer works properly. Also at the same location old style internally lit Subway lights.

I think the newer lanterns at Carlisle are Urbis Opalo 3s - Amey have been using them a fair bit around Cumbria.
I didn't know about Settle having changed, though I guess NYCC have swept through and replaced anything old. There had been an AC730 at the northern end of the main road just before it went out of the town, it could be seen from the train and ran a tungsten/CFL lamp.... last time I saw it was a good few months ago.

Since I am having camera problems I'm using GSV for images of the discoveries.

These are the unknown LED underpass lanterns:

The Manchester to Droylesden section of the Metrolink east extension has been opened this week... but what I've noticed is the traction poles. As with modern stantions in other cities, they are dual purpose and also hold the street lighting....

... but I'm really not sure on them being RED

Inside the Manchester city boundary they are black.

After a night in Kendal it was nice to see than most SON lamps are being swapped for metal halide ones. This seems to be an ongoing concern as older SON lamps expire and are replaced. A main road Alpha 3 on a concrete column running white light does look good. Due to the number of Alpha 3s running white light it seems like they're here to stay for some more time.  All the new Opalos and QSSs run white light. I have also spotted some Evolos and LED lanterns as casual replacements.

Those new LED lanterns are Urbis Limpets. We have used some with CDO-TT lamps but the LED version is obviously a recent addition to the range.

Loving those old signs- the sort of thing that's dying out and left to remain unlit sadly...

I hadn't noticed LED lanterns when I was there, but it is indeed nice to see the Alpha 3s returning to white light. The rumour I have heard is that 150W CDO is used whilst the lanterns are still on either 250W or 400W gear and so the lamps don't last too long... whether this is true or not I don't know.
There's older lanterns such as P111s (rarer type with clear bowl and SOX lamp with refractor) on some side streets, P107s on a car park by the bus station and by the riverside, and rarer stuff if you know where to look...
