I've just found out the screws are steel, so it will be hard to get them removed then.

So still rather common then? I have not seen them in use. Are these type use in flat starewells?
I was refering to the rare street lights I like, rather than this one in paticular in the rare area, Beauforts, Beta 3s, Gamma 1/2 etc

The Beta 3s are rare as indeed are the Gamma One & Twos, how many of these have you got?

Falks Beauforts, still a reasonable number about if you look.

None. I'm after a Beaufort 25/3 the most. I did a posting on that. My work can remove screws and retap the holes as there is a need for this as part of the work we do (classified), so I'll be able to get that problem sorted and get the lantern restored. I do quite like Coughtrie lanterns like that one. If there are old flats being pulled in Edinburgh, I might see what starwell lanterns they have and keep if they worth keeping

I'd be interested in one of them as an outside light for my garage.

Are these things really worth what this guy is asking for it?

Just wondered as I have about half a dozen on a shelf in my stores, of various different sizes. Admittedly, mine aren't polished though!

I thought so, but I'm not really knowledgeable on these lanterns and how common they are. I've never seen them till now

I'd also be interested in one if a good price asking for.
