I remembered this time! A 1970s Thorn Beta 5 retrofitted on older telegraph bracket, as seen in silhouette, against the sunset on a country lane, Trowbridge.  Modern lanterns light up the walkways of the new 'Southgate' development, in the historic city of Bath.

Someone call?  Well here's mine as a tribute to lantern no longer is service and now scrapped (they weren't all saved). Pictured 23rd June 2009, less than a year before it was removed. Eleco HW505 on Stewarts and Lloyd column dating from the early 1950s, Lee on Solent, Hampshire.

Both these images are from Bournemouth and were taken in March 2008...  A Phosco P235 on a retrofitted swan-neck and ancient REVO cast iron post. Thanks to sotonsteve for helping in its identification.  Urbis K-Luxes lighting a zig-zag path on the side of Bournemouth's cliffs. |
